3 Tage Singapur mit Baby / 3 days Singapore with the little one

Shoppen:
Kidswalk, süsser kleiner Laden im Great World City.

When we planned our vacation in Malaysia and Singapore it was clear we can not take the rental car across the border. Flying was too complicated so we took a bus from Malaka sentral relatively cheap and easy it lasts about 4-5 hours. The only thing that is a bit annoying one must go without luggage through the Malaysian border and then again with all the luggage, buggy etc across the border from Singapore.

Tip: If possible take as little luggage as possible, we were able to leave much of our stuff at our friends house in Melaka.

We stayed overnight at the Holiday Inn Singapore Artium, it is centrally located near the Orchard road.
We did not take our tent to Singapore but used the cot of the hotel. The people from the reception literally jumped on our little one. She got biscuits, pencils and a coloring book. We could borrow an umbrella for free here. In the room there was a kettle, fruit and 2 bottles of water. The breakfast at the hotel was great, a large range of continental and Asian, fresh and tasty and also very child friendly.
Once we have dined here as well, was also very good, but I could not get used to it, that the female waitress has completely ignored me and has spoken exclusively with meneer ?!

Tip: If you book in time, you can also use the free shuttle from the hotel.

Otherwise, there is a bus stop next to the hotel. The subway is about 15min walking.

Tip: Have coins ready for the bus, of course we only had bills, a young woman helped and even paid the ticket for us!. With the buggy by bus it is a bit complicated, because you are only allowed to take a folded stroller.

Tip: Do not forget that in Singapore you must not eat or drink in public transport, which also applies to babies.

Food:
Once I had a spicy mango salad with cashew nuts in Bangkok Jam im Plaza Singapore, very child friendly, besides the chair, there was even children dishes.

Shopping:
Kids Walk, sweet little shop in Great World City. Motherswork at the Shoppingcenter at the bay

The supermarket in Great World City is well equipped with baby food. You will find everything you need for your baby (or just want to have)

Tip: From the shopping center there is a free shuttle to eg Chinatown.

Tip: If we would have watched the weather a bit better we would not have spent the most beautiful day in the aquarium and could have visited the zoo as well. It was recommended to us not to go to the zoo when it is raining and as I read this blog post before I did not want to risk it 😉

Sentosa Island
We wanted to see the Aquarium of Singapore for sure, so we took the train (8S $) to Sentosa Island, you can also walk over a bridge or take the funicular. Since we were not sure how to get there, it was somehow chaotic. Ultimately, we took the train.

Tip: Think about it beforehand, otherwise you just waste time searching.

We also purchased directly the ticket for the aquarium there at the train (32S $). The aquarium was one of the best experiences of our whole holiday. The highlight, a 100m long wall where we certainly spent  20-30min just sitting on the floor and watching. We were all 3 very impressed. The rest e.g. the shark tunnel and the wreck is also really great, extremely worthwhile. Otherwise we have not seen much on Sentosa Island. The other attractions are more suitable for older children and we still wanted to see more. A short lunch break in the shopping center opposite the world-famous Hotel Marina Bay Sands. This shopping center was pretty crazy, who wants to can take a ride in a Venice Gondola or even do ice skating.

Tip: In Singapore, it was much more difficult to get something vegetarian than in Malaysia btw.

Then we went to the Gardens by the Bay, fantastic at least outside, the Supertree Grove are spectacular, especially nice to lay beneath and look in the sky. The Cloud Forest has its nice corners, the Flower Dome is for visitors from Europe not really exciting. Mainly geraniums, roses and daisies, but for visitors from Asia certainly interesting. What we still really liked were the art pieces, who are positioned between the plants. Since I really wanted to see the symbol of Singapore (it is actually on our Starbuck mug, then you should have seen it I guess) So we went all the way around the bay with the fantastic view of the Singapore skyline the way itself was worth to do it, the Merlion is smaller than expected and similar to Asians we have only briefly made a selfie and went to dine at Harrys at the esplanade. The food was fine, but we ate so good in this holidays that even good food was just ok. We were not really planning to watch it, but because the laser show at Marina Bay Sands Hotel just started we stayed a while, quite a sight. Our last day in Singapore we spent in Chinatown, as it was just Chinese New Year, it was incredibly full, the market was still super interesting however, I do not want to know exactly what everything was which was offered there to eat! Besides the classic Chinatown there is also a Hindu temple, where women were busy decorating the entire floor of the temple! Unfortunately I do not know what it means, but it looked very impressive.
