Drachenfels

In Koenigswinter you can park the car and either walk, take the cog railway or the kids can ride on a donkey up to the Drachenfels. Who wants to walk up should be quite fit, although it is not far, but partly quite steep.

Tip: Bring a carrier rather than push the buggy up.

We took the railway up and walked down. The train is 8€ for a single ride and 10€ for return. 1€ must be also paid for the buggy. On the top you have a great view of the Seven Mountains and the Rhine. The last meters to the ruins you have to walk anyway, also here the carrier is ideal, with a buggy you have to cope with a few steps or leave it alone for a while. Thanks to the sunny weather we could sit on the plateau outside and feed our little one. The restaurant does have 2 high chairs, however when the weather is nice at least that’s to less, a changing room, is also available. On the beautiful way down you pass the Drachenburg, the Nibelungenhalle, the dragon’s cave and a reptile zoo, because you have to pay entry fee additionally, we only had a look from the outside.
