Actually, I did not think our trip to the Outlet Center would end in a blog post. Being there I decided otherwise. Some of you may also like to go to Outlet shopping Centers and will also pass by Massmechelen by chance.

Maasmechelen Village

When we go to the outlet shopping area, we usually go to  Roermond. Last Sunday we spontaneously decided to go to Belgium. From Cologne you drive about an hour. Especially on Sundays and holidays, at designer outlets you often have the feeling that the whole world had the same idea. Traffic jamon the way to it and even more on the way home and crowded shops. To our surprise in Maasmechelen it was really quiet. Even at the free car park you still got a spot Close to the village. The shops of course are similar to the other outlet centers. Honestly, if you like to dress you child in H & M you probably will not find anything here. If you are looking for a special occasion or buy expensive clothes anyway, you can also find some bargains here. Personally, I like the shops the most that you do not necessarily find here in Germany, such as Noukie‘s, Belgian fashion for the youngest.

Tip: For all people with dogs. Dogs are allowed only in dog buggies, which can be borrowed at the tourist information.

Playground

The reason why our shopping trip to Maasmechelen Village has made it to the blog at all, is the great large playground. Climbing frames, various slides, a playhouse, a railway and much more. Ideal for children of all ages. The best in my opinion at all. Just outside the playground there are benches and wooden chairs. Here you can relax with coffee and goodies from one of my favorite bakeries the Le Pain Quotidien.

Tip: Alternatively, taste a belgian waffle.

The spacious changing rooms at Maasmechelen Village have convinced me here as well. Baby changing area, children’s toilet and for unforeseen accidents one can buy wet wipes and diapers.
